What is IELTS?
IELTS is abbreviated for International English Language Testing System. This form of testing system is designed to assess your English communication skills in the likes of Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. Given that this form of testing is the most popular English language test in the world, IELTS scores are accepted as the English language testing requirement to gain admission into higher education across various Universities/Colleges and for Migration purposes to countries like UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and many other countries.
What is the mode of IELTS test?
An IELTS test can be given either via paper based or online. The testing for both versions are conducted at test centers of British council or IDP.
What is the Test format?
There are 4 modules for IELTS – Listening (30 Minutes), Reading (60 Minutes) Writing (60 Minutes) and Speaking (15 Minutes).
The first 3 parts of the test will be conducted on the same day in the order – Listening, Reading and Writing. Speaking module of the test will be conducted either on the same day or in some cases (depending on date scheduling) 7 days before or 2 days after the actual test date of other modules.
Is there a break between the different modules of the test?
No. There is no break between the Listening, Reading and Writing tests. All these modules tests are taken together and will take a total of 2 hours and 40 minutes.
What is the scoring method of IELTS?
IELTS has a 9 band scoring system and you will receive an individual band scores for each module and an overall band score from a band scale of 1 to 9.
Which IELTS Test is suitable for me?
IELTS Tests are of two categories: IELTS GENERAL TRAINING AND IELTS ACADEMIC.
General Training is required for individuals looking to consider moving to English speaking countries for purpose of work or training programs and for migration purposes to countries in the likes of UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand etc.
Academic test is required for Students/Learners applying to Universities and colleges abroad for higher education in graduate/post-graduate or research study.
When and where can I take IELTS test?
You can take the IELTS Test at British council or IDP Test centers up to once a week (four times a month). The British council and IDP global schedule for test dates are 48 days per year.
How to register for the test?
Our trained test counselors would guide and assist you in registering for the test and in booking the test date. Green World Group is an authorized test partner for IELTS across India and UAE. Your original passport is required for the purpose of registration and the same needs to be produced on the test date which is a mandatory requirement.
How to prepare for the tests?
Preparing for your test is very crucial to achieve the desired band. Identify a coaching center where you will be trained to improve your level of English.

When and how can I get my IELTS Test results?
If your attempt is a paper based exam, your test results will be posted to you or your Training center 13 days after you have given the test. You would also be able to see your results online.
If your attempt is a computer based exam, your results will be available online within 3 to 5 days after your tests.
What is the validity of my IELTS test Certificate?
The IELTS test score once achieved is valid up to 2 years from the date of the exam.
For how long is my IELTS Certificate valid?
Your IELTS certificate will be valid only for two years from the date of issue.
How long will I have to take IELTS coaching?
That purely depends on your level of proficiency in English. We have a one month programme, a three month programme and a crash course for 10 days.
How many types of IELTS tests are there?
Basically there are two types of IELTS Tests-IELTS Academic and IELTS General. Your destination and purpose of visit will decide which test to take. In addition there are IELTS paper based exam and IELTS online exam. It is just your choice which one to take.

How is IELTS online exam different from IELTS paper based exam?
IELTS online exam is just the same as IELTS paper based exam. You just give it online, that’s all.
Which center should I choose to give IELTS exam?
The idea that exams at some centers are easier than at other centers is a myth. You can choose as per your convenience. It is the same exam on a single day at all centers.
What platforms does your center use for delivering the lessons?
We use different learning platforms as per the convenience of the student and tutor. These include Skype, Whatsapp video call, Viber video call etc.
